What’s the most heart-warming thing you’ve heard from a guest?

“Can we sit on the same table next year?” The people on this table felt so connected to each other that they wanted to reconnect in 12 months’ time!

What is CLIP and who is invited?

CLIP is a time of celebration and community for people who feel forgotten or disconnected at Christmas. It’s an event that is open to anyone vulnerable in the community who needs to find some food and a sense of family and connection, on Christmas Day.

What is your favourite part?

I want to say ‘all of it’ because it’s hard to choose a favourite part! If I was pressed though, I’d have to say that a huge highlight for me is seeing the smiles on hundreds of faces as our guests enjoy food, company and care together.

Who attends CLIP?

Our guests and volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. It really is a rich tapestry of humanity that gathers at CLIP.

Do you have any favourite memories of CLIP volunteers?

Last year (2022) one of our volunteers roped in her partner at the last minute to fill in for a hairdresser who couldn’t make it. This guy cut and styled hair for our guests for hours without a break and I was so impressed by the way he did this with such a spirit of generosity.
